Looking after health and wellness has never been more essential. It’s common practice to schedule meetings and reviews with team members that focus on the transactional work of an advisor, but putting time aside to ensure their mental and physical needs are being met is equally important.


Actions, not just words, prove solid leadership, so implementing regular check-ins with all members of your advisory team needs to take priority. Leading by example and putting wellness as a necessary part of your day is the best way to show your team what matters to you.


Wellness is not only physical but also mental and often times spiritual, too. It takes all elements to be in sound working order to reap the maximum benefits of life.


To get started, get moving:

  • Fit in a short yoga practice at your desk.
  • Take a few deep breaths and meditate between client meetings.
  • Go for a brisk walk on your lunch or coffee break.
  • Put some music on while you organize your calendar.
  • Try a new morning exercise regime to start the day with energy.
  • Listen to an audiobook on your commute or while you tidy your workspace.
  • Add a few more fruits and vegetables to your diet.
  • Drink water. Drink more water!


Adding minor changes to your routine can significantly impact your wellness level, and those positive steps affect your business, health, and overall life. When putting together a plan, create a balance between work and your personal life. It’s ok to turn off your phone once in a while. And your emails will be waiting for you when you return from a walk.
