SHOW AND SHARE YOUR STRENGTHS

To celebrate the month of May, we’re showcasing the importance and value of the Kolbe Index to you and your business. Kolbe measures conative instincts—the natural tendencies you have to perform tasks, learn, and approach your work. Are you ready to put it to the test?

Learning about your instinctive strengths is the first step. Kolbe is not a personality test or a valuation of your cognitive abilities or skills. It is the leading method to recognize and tap into the conative element of your brain. It’s all about instinct.

“The very essence of instinct is that it’s followed independently of reason.” – Charles Darwin.

For those advisors and their teams who have taken the Kolbe A Index assessment, you are already aware of the benefits of putting together a team knowing their innate strengths. If it is new to you, it requires you to answer a series of 36 questions to determine how you approach actions in particular situations.

Once you know your strengths, don’t be afraid to share them with others. This method eliminates misunderstandings in how you operate, and highlights the best way to show your team what to expect from your style of action.

There are no wrong answers on a Kolbe assessment, only illumination of your instinctive tendencies. Your answers may reveal a high score in specific categories that stand out, or you could be well-balanced in several areas. It’s the only test you’ll take where every score is perfect.

Do you see yourself in any of these roles?

Fact Finder – How a team member handles details and complexity. It indicates how much information is needed to solve problems.

Follow Thru – How you organize and design systems. People with strong numbers in this category want structure and processes to guide their work projects.

Quick Start – How you deal with risk and uncertainty. Quick starts thrive on new ideas and are fearless in pursuing their goals.

Implementor – How you deal with space and tangibles. This person is at their best when creating concrete things.

Knowing where your natural strengths fit into each of the four key categories helps you in everyday tasks, at work and in all areas of your life. They highlight your method of operation or, MO, and bring awareness to how you take action.

Applying your Kolbe results to your team offers important advantages. A room full of Quick Starts may not provide concrete results, but when you add in a strong Follow Thru, based on research from a Fact Finder, and finish up with an Implementor, there’s no stopping you and your success.
